26) Buddhist Temple Adventures

This weekend started by having wine and dessert with Catrina. The next day, I met with Nathan and Brodie to travel to the South side of the island to walk along the coast and visit a temple. Then the day after, I walked around the West side of the island to hike with a co-teacher. There are no pictures from the hike with a co-teacher becasue my phone camera wasn’t working.

Dessert with Catrina.

Along the coast, they offer hard hats due to falling rocks. Nathan said no, I said YES!

The coast has a makeshift restaurant. Women pull fresh seafood from the water and serve you and small plastic tables and chairs. They keep soju bottles in buckets submerged underwater in case you want chilled vodka during lunch.

There’s a model ship near the coast that you can walk through for free.

Nathan wanted me to pose, when I asked how he showed me. But he’s six feet tall.

We used some supplies to make sure I could also do the pose he suggested.

There was a gift shop that had tons of wooden shoes, dresses, and hats that you could put on for pictures.

We walked along the other side of the coast to meet Brodie. We saw these other women selling fresh seafood.

You walk up all these stairs that lead to a statue with fresh water dripping from the rocks. It’s tradition that you take a sip of the water (next picture) and light an incense or a prayer candle (picture after next).

All in all, it was a really great weekend. I’d recommend this location to everyone 🙂
