I bet you thought I’d never update my blog again. Now that it’s summer and I’m beginning to do things each weekend I started taking more pictures which reminded me of my blog. So here we go!
In February I flew into Luang Prabang, Laos in the north. It was the tiniest airport I’ve seen to date. I did a bit of hiking and a lot of eating. The weather was gloomy and rainy so after 36 hours I took a bus south to Vientiane where the weather was great! However, my main destination was Don Det even further south so I only stayed for a few hours.
Don Det was everything that I wanted it to be. The journey took more than a day by bus from Luang Prabang but it was worth it. I found my hammock bungalow and enjoyed the warm weather.
I took a 12 hour bus overnight to Vientiane. There were no sleeper buses available so I had to try and sleep sitting up. I arrived early in the morning, walked around to find a hostel, then napped until my next bus to Don Det.
Since I’m frugal I decided to make the whole trip back north to catch my flight out of Laos. Back on the tiny boat, to the three hour bus, to the 11 hour bus, to the 12 hour bus. Luckily the weather was nicer in Luang Prabang when I arrived. I went to Kuang Si waterfalls and bear park for my last day.
