I was born and raised on Long Island, New York. I love music, traveling, my family, and friends. When I was 18 I moved to Buffalo, NY to complete my B.S. in Social Studies Education. This year (2014), at 25 I am celebrating the completion of my M.S. in Social Studies Education.
I have been fortunate to be raised by parents who value the experience of travel. With the encouraging support of my family and friends I was able to study abroad in Siena, Italy (2009). This experience fostered my confidence in moving to Korea in August. I have also been extremely lucky to meet my best friend and boyfriend who both share a love for traveling; our countless road trips are my favorite memories.
My Role in Education
Through SUNY Buffalo State College I completed all of the requirements to obtain my NYS Initial Teaching Certification. I observed classrooms for two semesters and taught with a mentor teacher for an additional two semesters. My first academic year of teaching experience was through the AmeriCorp’s ABLE program in the city of Buffalo. After the conclusion of my one year contract, I signed a year long contract with the Jeju Province of Education to teach English for one academic year in South Korea.
